Being Wanted vs. Being Convenient

Attention is not always affection.

There is a particular kind of confusion that happens when someone likes having access to you more than they like showing up for you.

They answer when bored. They call when lonely. They remember you when something else falls through.

That can feel like being wanted because, technically, they keep coming back.

But being wanted has weight. It costs someone time, effort, inconvenience, and occasionally pride.

Do not measure affection only by how often someone returns. Pay attention to what they are willing to rearrange.
